National Demand Planning Manager

Location: Otahuhu, Auckland  
Contract: Full Time – Permanent  

About the Role 

As the National Demand Planning Manager, you will lead the demand planning function and drive commercial alignment across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain. In this strategic position, you will take ownership of the monthly Demand Review meetings, actively challenging commercial bias to ensure our plans are anchored by robust, data-backed insights. 

Crucially, this role involves directly managing and mentoring a Demand Planner, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and capability building within the function. Covering both the New Zealand and export markets across an 18‑month planning horizon, you will leverage your understanding of NZ FMCG dynamics to elevate our S&OP maturity, reduce forecast bias, and strengthen overall inventory and product availability. 

What you will do 

• Lead the monthly demand planning cycle and deliver accurate sales forecasts 

• Work with cross‑functional teams to align business and planning needs 

• Produce insights and scenario models to support decision‑making 

• Improve forecast accuracy and inventory outcomes 

• Manage and enhance planning systems and tools 

• Support product range and SKU optimisation 

What you will bring 

• Proven experience in senior-level demand planning and forecasting, coupled with a deep understanding of New Zealand FMCG market dynamics and customer landscapes. 

• Strong communication and stakeholder management capability, with the confidence and capability to influence commercial teams and senior business leaders, and challenge assumptions 

• Experience with trade promotion systems is an advantage. 

• Ability to lead cross functional processes and collaborate effectively. 

• Strong analytical skills, including high competency in Power BI, advanced Excel, and enterprise-level forecasting systems. 

• Relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain, business, economics, or a related field.
