Senior Legal Executive

Purpose of The Job: 

  • To be the central point of expertise and a business partners providing legal support/consultation through E2E business value chain.
  • Proactively sharing best practices/external insights advising the business to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Overview E2E business value chain operation ensuring no potential legal risks and to provide on time mitigation plan to address any arising issues in timely manner.
  • Working closely with Company external business stakeholders; i.e., agents, etc.

 

Key Accountabilities: 

Business Partnering      

  • Applies business acumen; weights commercial interests and business risks to provide consultation to the business.
  • Provides expert and strategic professional judgement and timely guidance to benefit the business.
  • Communicates complex legal and business issues in a concise, clear, and fact-based manner.
  • Review and/or drafting of legal documents (including but not limited to supply agreements, sponsorship agreements, tenders and procurement agreements, memorandums of understanding, letters of appointment, intellectual property agreement, service level agreements, letter to governance and Standard Operation Procedure and advising on the same.
  • Be part of any innovation projects
  • Assist in drafting and/or Reviewing Legal Documents including contracts and register unique contract number upon review.
  • Conduct Legal Research and provide input in legal interpretation and application to the business operation and monitor newly released regulation update and update to Legal Counsel.
  • Prepare application and assist in working process such as license/permit/approval application or renewal including MOC’s annual declaration, documentation of exclusive right and license contracts, renewal of mark registration, renew of patents, amendment of board member, etc.
  • Provide input in policy development, improvement, and enforcement, and assist in providing induction/training or refreshment of all related internal policies.
  • Provide translation of documents per required by Legal Counsel from English to Khmer and vice-versa.
  • Be ready to provide presentation in English/Khmer as needs and perform other related legal and compliance tasks as assigned by Legal Counsel.

License and Contract Management    

  • Liaising with other departments within the organization on the status of contracts etc.
  • Collect back all the contract from stakeholder and upload to Contract Data Base System
  • Managing licenses, contract register and contract management system.

 

Risk Management & Compliance   

  • Investigating potentially contentious matters and oversee any litigation matters.
  • Take the lead on renew all the licenses in the Company.
  • Member of the compliance group specific for SC Compliance requirement

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement of Legal contents & processes within HEINEKEN Cambodia.
  • Actively seeks opportunities to improve processes and procedures; actively encourages and incentivizes others to improve processes and procedures; effectively implements changes.

 

People Agenda   

  • Actively engaging in learning development activities provided by HEINEKEN Cambodia.

 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • University degree in Legal. Master’s degree in relevant field is preferable.
  • At least two years' experience working in a reputable law firm or similar corporate entity.
  • Be mature, responsible, and responsive.
  • Highly critical thinking and be able to work flexibly in a diverse working environment.
  • Excellent speaking and writing in English and Khmer language
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point. Contract Management System
