Title: Junior Sales Intelligence Analyst (X2)
PURPOSE OF POSITION
We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Junior Sales Intelligence Analyst to support the development of actionable insights that drive sales performance, improve customer engagement, and optimise commercial strategy.
The role is responsible for transforming large and complex datasets into clear insights, visualisations, and recommendations that enable sales, marketing, and commercial teams to make data-driven decisions.
Working closely with cross-functional teams across the organisation, the Junior Sales Intelligence Analyst plays a key role in developing dashboards, maintaining data models, and enabling stakeholders to leverage self-service analytics tools. Insights generated through this role contribute directly to strategic, commercial, and operational plans that support portfolio growth and market competitiveness.
The analyst will integrate multiple data sources, identify trends and opportunities, and help build future-focused analytical capabilities including predictive analytics, automation, and digital reporting solutions.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Data Analysis & Insight Generation
- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that inform commercial strategies.
- Translate analytical findings into clear insights and actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
- Conduct deep analysis on sales, customer, and market data to identify growth opportunities and performance gaps.
Sales Performance Reporting
- Develop and maintain sales dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports.
- Monitor key commercial metrics including volume, revenue, distribution, and market share.
- Ensure reporting accuracy and alignment with global audit and governance standards.
Dashboard Development & Data Visualisation
- Maintain and enhance existing dashboards and develop new reporting solutions using Power BI and other analytics tools.
- Drive new ways of reporting that improve data accessibility and decision-making across the organisation.
- Ensure dashboards are intuitive and support self-service analytics for business users.
Commercial Intelligence
- Gather and analyse market intelligence, including competitor activity, category performance, and consumer behaviour.
- Provide customer and channel insights that support sales planning and account strategies.
Target Setting & Incentive Support
- Support monthly and quarterly sales target setting using historical performance trends and production forecasts.
- Maintain accurate reporting to support sales incentive calculations and governance processes.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Digital teams to support data-driven decision making.
- Present analytical insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Support training initiatives to enable stakeholders to use dashboards effectively.
Data Integration & Digital Enablement
- Identify opportunities to integrate and consolidate internal and third-party data sources.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and alignment with organisational data principles.
- Act as a data translator between business requirements and digital capabilities.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and improve analytical efficiency.
- Explore new technologies and analytical approaches including predictive analytics and AI-supported insights.
- Contribute to improving organisational data maturity and analytical capability.
EUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Honours Degree in a relevant analytical discipline such as:
- Business or Financial Economics;Business Informatics; Data Science; Mathematics or Statistics; Computer Science; Data Management or related fields.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in FMCG, analytics, or digital environments.
- Proven experience in data analysis and reporting roles, translating business requirements into actionable insights.
- Strong experience building and maintaining dashboards in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX and Power Query development.
- Advanced Excel capability, including Power Pivot, complex formulas, and large dataset management in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong data modelling expertise, including star schema and dimensional modelling techniques.
- Experience automating reporting processes and improving analytical workflows to increase efficiency and data reliability.
- Familiarity with data querying and programming tools such as SQL, Python, and enterprise platforms like SAP.
- Understanding of cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Snowflake.
- Experience working in Agile environments is advantageous.
