The DBB Programme is a cross-functional, business-led Digital Transformation programme that delivers standard ways of working for HEINEKEN Operating Companies. Our Global Functions – Commerce, Supply Chain (Logistics and Production), Finance, and Procurement – have worked together with Global Data & Technology teams to create a common set of processes, supported by a set of standard IT applications centred around a lean ERP core. Over the next few years, these processes and supporting applications will be deployed to all HEINEKEN Operating Companies (OpCos) worldwide.
Process Orchestration is an exciting new capability for HEINEKEN. Here we monitor in real time that our end-to-end processes, such as Market-to-Cash and Source-to-Pay, flow seamlessly across all teams and platforms that support them: from order creation to delivery, invoicing, and payment. We make their paths and status visible and signal any issues along the way. This allows our OpCo end users to take remediation actions instantly. But that is not all: we will also include intelligent automation technologies and machine learning to help resolve those issues. So that we can recommend Next Best Actions to end users, or even automatically fix issues before the end user is aware. All this to work towards a seamless process experience for our customers, suppliers, and employees.
The Orchestration Developer is responsible for building the Process Orchestration platform in the Camunda Process Orchestration platform. This in close collaboration with our HEINEKEN Business Analysts, the HEINEKEN IT Delivery Lead, and our vendor development team in India. Tasks will include analysing functional requirements, translating these into a technical design, building the workflow solution, and testing the result to ensure it is built according to specifications. You will also be exploring the opportunities that AI/ML and automation can bring to enhance our workflows. It is a unique opportunity where you will cooperate with experts from various HEINEKEN Global Functions and OpCos to deliver a new capability for the organisation that allows us to monitor execution and address disruptions immediately.
The role is based in Krakow, Poland, and is available immediately.
Your responsibilities would include:
-
Architectural Guardrail & Governance: acting as the internal owner of the Camunda 8 platform. Defining development standards and ensuring that the solution built by external partners aligns with Camunda's best practices and the Digital Backbone (DBB) design principles
- Event-Driven Orchestration: leading the design and implementation of Job Workers that consume events from Solace to trigger, advance, or correlate process instances within the Zeebe engine
- Business Translation & Modeling: partnering with the Orchestration Business Team to translate complex DBB requirements into high-quality, executable BPMN 2.0 process maps and DMN decision tables
- Knowledge Management & Transition: actively participating in the building phase to ensure a smooth "hand-over." Document system architecture, custom connectors, and deployment logic to ensure internal self-sufficiency post-delivery
- Performance & Observability: monitoring process health using Camunda Operate and Optimize to ensure the Digital Backbone performs at scale.
You are a good candidate if you have:
- proven experience integrating message brokers (specifically Solace) with orchestration engines
- strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) or Node.js for building resilient Camunda 8 Workers
- expertise in REST APIs and experience building/configuring connectors for Mulesoft and Webhooks
- experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions)
- experience with testing to ensure process logic is validated before deployment
- English C1.
You are a perfect match if you also have:
- Camunda 8 Expertise: Deep practical experience with the Zeebe engine. Proficiency in modeling executable BPMN and complex DMN, with an understanding of process variables and scope
- experience with AI Orchestration patterns, specifically integrating LLMs/Agentic models into process flows
- a deep understanding of the Digital Backbone (DBB) design principles and the EverGreen strategy will be considered a significant advantage.
