Title: Supervisor- Utilities Operations

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To supervise, lead, inspire and provide support to the utilities operation team by ensuring that planned and preventative maintenance are executed including mechanical, electrical/instrumentation and provide input on utilities projects in the Engineering department.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- A National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ technical experience in a manufacturing plant of which at least 2 years should be on supervisory level.
- Practical experience and strong knowledge with industrial utility systems, including: Ammonia Plants, CO₂ Plants, Boilers, Water Treatment and RO, Compressed Air & Effluent/wastewater.
- Experience in FMCG manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
- MS Office proficient (Word & Excel)
- Plant Maintenance system (Maximo /SAP) experience will be advantage.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Understanding of TPM principles.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Leading and coordinating planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance activities across Utilities.
- Managing maintenance planning, scheduling and reporting.
- Providing technical support to Utilities Process Controllers to maximise equipment reliability, availability and plant efficiency.
- Faultfinding and trouble shooting and implementation of corrective actions .
- Coordinating contractors and supporting Utilities optimisation and improvement projects.
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards, including legislative requirements relating to machinery safety in utility.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve maintenance effectiveness.
- Managing departmental resources, overtime and leave planning.
