PURPOSE 

To lead the development and execution of category strategies by partnering with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to secure sustainable, high‑quality supply at competitive cost. The role is responsible for maximising value through strong supplier performance management, disciplined governance, and delivery aligned to the organisation’s sustainability ambitions. This includes end‑to‑end oversight of sourcing, contracting, supplier relationship management, and supplier development within the assigned category.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES: 

• A recognised bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• A minimum of 6 years of experience, with at least 5 years in progressively responsible positions in purchasing, project management, and contract and vendor negotiations within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
• Solid knowledge of Category Management
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Develop, execute, and optimise category strategies that ensure continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and alignment with business needs.
• Lead competitive sourcing events, develop negotiation strategies, and manage end‑to‑end contracting processes in compliance with procurement policy and Delegation of Authority (DOA).
• Build, manage, and grow key supplier relationships, ensuring performance, quality, innovation, and adherence to ethical and environmental standards.
• Oversee supplier segmentation, onboarding, performance reviews, and development activities using relevant digital tools and SRM platforms.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with NBL departments and global procurement teams to ensure integrated planning and effective execution.
• Analyse market trends, cost drivers, and risk factors to anticipate opportunities and threats affecting assigned categories.
• Drive continuous improvement through sourcing optimisation, supplier‑led innovation, and value‑engineering initiatives.
• Ensure full governance compliance across Source‑to‑Contract and Source‑to‑Pay processes, including budget adherence and performance reporting.
• Support the Head of Procurement with portfolio reviews, reporting insights, capability development, and strategic procurement initiatives.
• Lead and develop a Procurement Specialist, fostering capability uplift, operational discipline, and a culture of excellence.
