Fleet Supervisor & Tarnsportation Planner - Abu Rawash

Job Purpose

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising transportation and fleet operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective distribution of finished goods while maintaining high service levels. The role oversees transportation planning, fleet scheduling, driver management, vehicle utilization, fuel monitoring, compliance with safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives to support business operations and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

1. Transportation Planning & Distribution

  • Develop and execute transportation plans to ensure timely delivery of finished goods and return of empties while optimizing transportation costs.
  • Create transportation arrangements that meet customer service requirements in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinate vehicle allocation and dispatching for primary distribution.
  • Ensure transportation plans are executed within operational timelines while maximizing fleet utilization.
  • Coordinate with plant, warehouse, customer service, and supply chain teams to ensure vehicle availability and uninterrupted operations.
  • Monitor transportation capacity and recommend adjustments to meet short-, medium-, and long-term business requirements.

2. Fleet Operations & Scheduling

  • Supervise daily fleet operations and ensure effective utilization of company vehicles.
  • Plan and oversee driver schedules, shift planning, and vacation rotations.
  • Maintain a centralized fleet schedule to minimize delays and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Monitor vehicle availability and coordinate replacement vehicles whenever required.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed to maximize vehicle reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Support the preventive maintenance program for fleet equipment and forklifts.

3. Vehicle Tracking & Operational Control

  • Monitor fleet movements using fleet tracking systems and ensure adherence to planned routes and delivery schedules.
  • Track vehicle status in real time and communicate operational updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle movement logs, trip records, driver schedules, and journey durations.
  • Respond promptly to operational disruptions such as vehicle breakdowns, traffic delays, or road closures by coordinating alternative solutions.

4. Driver Management

  • Coordinate and supervise daily driver activities to ensure efficient transportation operations.
  • Support the recruitment, screening, onboarding, and orientation of qualified drivers.
  • Monitor driver performance and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct ongoing performance reviews and identify coaching and development opportunities.
  • Ensure effective communication of delivery schedules, route changes, and operational updates to drivers.

5. Fleet Performance & Fuel Management

  • Monitor fuel consumption and fuel card utilization to ensure cost efficiency and prevent misuse.
  • Analyze fuel performance and recommend initiatives to reduce transportation costs.
  • Monitor fleet utilization, vehicle downtime, delivery performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze transportation and fleet KPIs to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the implementation of initiatives that improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance fleet performance.

6. Safety, Compliance & Sustainability

  • Ensure transportation operations comply with company Health & Safety standards and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe driving practices and enforce compliance with fleet safety policies.
  • Prepare contractor work permits and ensure compliance with site access requirements.
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities to maintain warehouse and transportation compliance with safety regulations.
  • Ensure transportation operations support the company's sustainability objectives, including transport safety and carbon emission reduction.
  • Report and investigate fleet accidents, incidents, and safety observations while ensuring appropriate corrective actions.

7. Asset & Service Provider Management

  • Monitor transportation assets to ensure they remain in excellent operating condition.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to maximize fleet availability and reliability.
  • Monitor outsourced transportation service providers to ensure compliance with service agreements, safety requirements, and cost expectations.
  • Evaluate logistics service provider performance and recommend improvement actions.

8. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare regular reports on transportation performance, fleet utilization, fuel consumption, vehicle downtime, and operational KPIs.
  • Develop dashboards and performance analyses to support management decision-making.
  • Monitor transportation trends and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Initiate corrective and preventive actions to minimize product damage, stock quality issues, and transportation losses.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across transportation and fleet operations.

Education & Experiences

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration is preferable

Years of Experience

1 - 3 years of experience in warehousing management, distribution, and transportation planning, preferably in FMCGs.

Qualifications & Other Requirements 

Excellent command of English Language

Skills in Microsoft (Excel & PowerPoint), Power BI is a plus

Knowledge in ERP System like SAP preferably
